Turnkey card payments for laundromats

Every machine.
One kiosk.
One percent.

The cheapest on-machine payment system out there costs $10,000 — and it's a mobile app, period. Kiosk systems run $16,000–$30,000 for a 70-machine store. CleanerStart wires a typical 60-machine store for $10,000 ($2,500 base + $125/machine): every machine, the reload kiosk, the cards, the mobile app, the web app — installed, turnkey. Then 1% of volume. That's the whole deal.

The fight

Them vs. you

Every card system makes you choose: pay $10K for an app with no kiosk, or $16K–30K for a kiosk with no app. Then the fees start. Here's our deal instead.

How it works

Tap. Approve. Start.

Value never lives on the card — cards are just IDs. Every dollar sits in a server-side ledger, so lost cards are a two-click reissue and cloned cards can't mint money.

01

Customer taps

A cryptographically-secure card (NTAG 424 DNA) hits the reader built into the board behind the machine's faceplate. Fakes and clones don't read as genuine.

02

Your server approves

The board asks your backend over signed HTTPS. Balance checked, ledger debited, approval signed. No approval, no start — the board fails closed, always.

03

Machine starts

The board fires start pulses into the machine's existing coin input — the exact signal a quarter makes. No control-board surgery. Works on the machines you already own.

Quarters? Still work. And now every coin drop is logged — so the coin box finally has to match the books.

Receipts

We run this in our own store.

CleanerStart isn't a pitch deck. It's the system running our own laundromat in Fredericksburg, VA — built because we refused to pay rent on our own machines.

FAQ

Fair questions.

Does it work with my machines?

If your machine takes coins through a start-pulse input (Speed Queen with NetMaster is our home fleet), the board drives it with the same pulses a quarter produces. No control-board replacement, no proprietary harness.

Internet goes down — then what?

Card taps fail closed: the board never starts a machine without a signed approval. Coins keep working the entire time, so the store never stops taking money.

Can someone clone a card?

There's nothing on the card to steal — value lives on the server. Cards authenticate with a one-time cryptographic signature on every tap, so a copied card doesn't read as genuine.

Do customers need an app?

They don't need one — card or fob works app-free, loaded at the kiosk with cash or a bank card. But they get one anyway: the mobile and web apps are included, so customers who want to reload from the couch, can.

What does it actually cost, all-in?

$2,500 base plus $125 per machine, 25-machine minimum — a typical 60-machine store lands at $10,000, everything included and installed. Then 1% of transaction volume, with card processing passed through at cost via our processing partner. No per-machine monthlies, no support contracts. You can put every number in a spreadsheet before you call us.

What if a board dies?

The machine goes back to being a coin machine — nothing bricks. Boards sit on eight screw terminals; we swap one in minutes, and it's on us to keep your floor live.
